Our New House

I know, it has been awhile. But it has been crazy trying to keep our house clean while people come walking through, checking on the new house every other day, cause we're obsessed, working, and other activities. Our new house is coming along nicely but of course not as quickly as I would have liked. Don't understand it when we drive by on a beautiful day and no one is working. Hopefully things are still on schedule. Here are some photos. A lot has been done since these pictures were taken. The roof is done, siding is done, fireplace is in, plumbing is in and the electric is in. Hopefully it will be done on schedule, end of May? We'll see. In other good news, we sold our house. Very excited and relieved.

January's over

A whole month has gone by and I haven't written a single word. Not good. But I feel like January has flown by in a second. These two months I hate the most. I hate being cold all of the time. I hate the early darkness. I hate snow storms. I'm really depressing. This month is also the anniversary of my mom passing away which feels like yesterday and I miss her greatly. I'm happy to be moving into a new month and get this winter over with.

I have been loving my new job. It is completely different than what I'm used to and I really feel like I can have a bigger impact on cancer research working on clinical trials than basic lab research. We are getting really involved in church now. Eric and I are small group leaders in Kidworks, I am the Supply Coordinator for K-5 Kidworks, Eric is leading the missions trip this summer, he is leading a Financial small group, I attend a Women's small group, and today Eric was voted in as an elder in our church. Things are a little crazy right now but I know we are serving God which we lacked doing for the past couple of years.

Our house building will start this week. They will be digging the basement finally and right now they are thinking sometime in May it will be done. Not much has happenend with our house as far as selling or renting. We have had a couple of people come through and they like the house but aren't thrilled with the taxes. No surprise there!

Brayden has been doing well. He has a new sticker chart where each day he has 12 things to do such as Make his bed, Be a good listener, No whinning, Put away books and movies, Put away toys, Set table, Memory verse, etc. If he completes each task, he gets a sticker and then at the end of the week we give him 10 cents per sticker. He gives 10% to church and 10% to the savings bank. Anything left over he can spend on anything he wants. And let me tell you that list is very long. Since Christmas he saved $5 and this past Sat. we went to Target so he could buy a $5 Thomas movie. This system has worked really well in teaching him about saving, tithing, and working for something we want. And it also gives me a good reason not to just buy what ever he wants which is hard for me 'cause I like to spoil him.

Hopefully another month won't go by before I post again. I will try to have some pictures too.

Hope everyone is well!
